I had just come off running 50+ miles a week for probably 10 weeks straight, training for my first 50 miler, and eating to fuel long and longer runs almost everyday. Training long distance is tough on a body and tough for someone to really focus on muscle building and development. That kind of cardio and distance is just counterproductive to muscle building but my goal wasn’t muscle development at the time. My goal was ENDURANCE to finish my first 50 miler, which I did and then I immediately went into running hibernation trying to recover form a nasty hip/glute injury.

I dropped my mileage down to something pretty non-existent and I picked up a new and exciting fitness program, The Master’s Hammer & Chisel!

For 8 weeks straight, I focused on keeping things SIMPLE. I didn’t run anything over 5 miles a day or 20’ish miles a week and I dialed in my nutrition to match my effort in our home gym while I worked out everyday to this program.

The RESULTS:

> I lost 4.5 inches
> I feel amazing
> I fully recovered from my injury
> I’m STRONGER than ever
> I increased my weights from 8/10/15 lbs to 20/25/35 lbs
> I discovered new muscles in my legs, back, and arms
> I gave myself a natural butt lift
> I increased my metabolism by eating 6-7 times a day and about 500 more calories than normal

And by these photos, you may be wondering if I lost weight… that would be a NEGATIVE. I gained 5 lbs.

Proof that weight is nothing more than a meaningless number and there are for more things to measure your success by than a scale.

I’m thrilled with my results, happy that I’ve completed my 15th Beachbody program, and looking forward to my next BIG adventure!
