This is another nice race in Maryland.  It starts near S. Paca & Camden Street and continues through the various parts of the city giving you a nice but challenging run.  The course travels through the many diverse neighborhoods including the scenic Inner Harbor waterfront area, historic Federal Hill and charming Fells Point.  There is a decent 1 mile loop around Lake Montebello that gives you a nice stretch of flat terrain near mile 21 but other than that, there are lots of rolling hills so don’t expect anything flatter than that area!

PROS:  Under Armour is the main sponsor for this race and the shirts are fantastic.  The quality is great and definitely one that I will use going forward.  The expo and race itself are very well organized with ample post race food and vendors.  There are activity zones set up for the children if you are brave enough to stick around that long after the run.

CONS:  It’s CROWDED.  With a race this large you are bound to feel a little claustrophobic when starting off and finishing the race. You need to be in the city well in advance of the start time (8:00am) due to major road closures.   My family and I stayed over night to avoid the early morning departure time from our home.
